Introduction

on Kali Linux.
What is sreview-detect
sreview-detect is:
SReview is a video review and transcoding system. It allows users to
review videos, and will then (after the review has finished) transcode
them into archive-quality video files.
This package contains the sreview-detect script, which probes files in
the input directory and either adds them to the database if they’re
new, or just updates their length if they’re already known.
There are three methods to install sreview-detect
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install sreview-detect Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install sreview-detect
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install sreview-detect

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install sreview-detect
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install sreview-detect
Install sreview-detect Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install sreview-detect
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install sreview-detect
How To Uninstall sreview-detect on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the sreview-detect
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove sreview-detect
Uninstall sreview-detect And Its Dependencies
To uninstall sreview-detect
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove sreview-detect
Remove sreview-detect Configurations and Data
To remove sreview-detect
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge sreview-detect
Remove sreview-detect configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove sreview-detect
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge sreview-detect
