In this tutorial we learn how to install ssh-contact-service on Kali Linux.
What is ssh-contact-service
ssh-contact-service is:
SSH-Contact is a client/service tool that makes easy to connect your telepathy
IM contacts via SSH. No need to care about dynamic IP, NAT, port forwarding
or firewalls anymore; if you can chat with a friend, you can also SSH him.
This package contains the server side of ssh-contact.
There are three methods to install ssh-contact-service on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ssh-contact-service Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ssh-contact-service using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ssh-contact-serviceInstall ssh-contact-service Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ssh-contact-service using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ssh-contact-serviceInstall ssh-contact-service Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ssh-contact-service using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ssh-contact-serviceHow To Uninstall ssh-contact-service on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ssh-contact-service package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ssh-contact-serviceUninstall ssh-contact-service And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ssh-contact-service and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ssh-contact-serviceRemove ssh-contact-service Configurations and Data
To remove ssh-contact-service configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ssh-contact-serviceRemove ssh-contact-service configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ssh-contact-service configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
