What is imgsizer
imgsizer is:
The imgsizer script automates away the tedious task of creating and
updating the extension HEIGHT and WIDTH parameters in HTML IMG tags.
These parameters help browsers to multi-thread image loading, instead of
having to load images in strict sequence in order to have each one’s
dimensions available so the next can be placed. This generally allows
text on the remainder of the page to load much faster.
The package needs either the imagemagick package or both the file and
libjpeg-progs packages.
There are three methods to install imgsizer
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install imgsizer Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install imgsizer
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install imgsizer
Install imgsizer Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install imgsizer
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install imgsizer
Install imgsizer Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install imgsizer
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install imgsizer
How To Uninstall imgsizer on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the imgsizer
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove imgsizer
Uninstall imgsizer And Its Dependencies
To uninstall imgsizer
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove imgsizer
Remove imgsizer Configurations and Data
To remove imgsizer
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge imgsizer
Remove imgsizer configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove imgsizer
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge imgsizer
