Introduction

What is libfits-java-doc
libfits-java-doc is:
FITS (Flexible Image Transport System) is the standard
data format in astronomy used for the transport, analysis,
and archival storage of scientific data sets.
This library provides efficient I/O for FITS images and
binary tables. All basic FITS formats and gzip compressed
files are supported.

There are three methods to install libfits-java-doc on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libfits-java-doc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libfits-java-doc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libfits-java-doc

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libfits-java-doc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libfits-java-doc
Install libfits-java-doc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libfits-java-doc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libfits-java-doc
How To Uninstall libfits-java-doc on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libfits-java-doc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libfits-java-doc
Uninstall libfits-java-doc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libfits-java-doc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libfits-java-doc
Remove libfits-java-doc Configurations and Data
To remove libfits-java-doc configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libfits-java-doc
Remove libfits-java-doc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libfits-java-doc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libfits-java-doc
