What is libfsverity0
libfsverity0 is:
fs-verity is a Linux kernel feature that does transparent on-demand
integrity/authenticity verification of the contents of read-only files,
using a hidden Merkle tree (hash tree) associated with the file. The
mechanism is similar to dm-verity, but implemented at the file level
rather than at the block device level.
This package contains the libfsverity shared library.
There are three methods to install libfsverity0
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libfsverity0 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libfsverity0

using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install libfsverity0

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libfsverity0
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libfsverity0
How To Uninstall libfsverity0 on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libfsverity0
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libfsverity0
Uninstall libfsverity0 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libfsverity0
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libfsverity0
Remove libfsverity0 Configurations and Data
To remove libfsverity0
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libfsverity0
Remove libfsverity0 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
