Introduction

on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is libfwupd2
libfwupd2 is:
fwupd is a daemon to allow session software to update device firmware.
You can either use a GUI software manager like GNOME Software to view and
apply updates, the command-line tool or the system D-Bus interface directly.
Firmware updates are supported for a variety of technologies.

This package provides the library used by the daemon.
There are three methods to install libfwupd2
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libfwupd2 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libfwupd2
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libfwupd2
Install libfwupd2 Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libfwupd2
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libfwupd2
Install libfwupd2 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libfwupd2
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libfwupd2
How To Uninstall libfwupd2 on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the libfwupd2
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libfwupd2
Uninstall libfwupd2 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libfwupd2
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libfwupd2
Remove libfwupd2 Configurations and Data
To remove libfwupd2
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libfwupd2
Remove libfwupd2 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libfwupd2
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libfwupd2
