Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install amule-utils
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is amule-utils
amule-utils is:
This package contains a set of command-line utilities related to aMule,
the eD2k network client:
- ed2k: handles ed2k:// links, queueing them into aMule
- cas: displays the contents of your aMule online signature
- alcc: computes ed2k:// links for the given input files
- amulecmd: text-based client to control aMule or the aMule daemon
Some of these utilities have graphic versions, which can be found in
the amule-utils-gui package.
There are three methods to install amule-utils
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install amule-utils Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install amule-utils
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install amule-utils
Install amule-utils Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install amule-utils
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install amule-utils
Install amule-utils Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install amule-utils
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install amule-utils
How To Uninstall amule-utils on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the amule-utils
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove amule-utils
Uninstall amule-utils And Its Dependencies
To uninstall amule-utils
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove amule-utils
Remove amule-utils Configurations and Data
To remove amule-utils
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge amule-utils
Remove amule-utils configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove amule-utils
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge amule-utils
