In this tutorial we learn how to install anaconda-install-env-deps on CentOS 8.

What is anaconda-install-env-deps

The anaconda-install-env-deps metapackage lists all installation environment dependencies. This makes it possible for packages (such as Initial Setup) to depend on the main Anaconda package without pulling in all the install time dependencies as well.

We can use yum or dnf to install anaconda-install-env-deps on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install anaconda-install-env-deps.

Install anaconda-install-env-deps on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install anaconda-install-env-deps using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install anaconda-install-env-deps
