Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install boost-serialization
on CentOS 8.
What is boost-serialization
Run-time support for serialization for persistence and marshaling. boost-serialization 1.66.0 10.el8 x86_64 122 k boost-1.66.0-10.el8.src.rpm appstream Run-time component of boost serialization library http Boost and MIT and Python Run-time support for serialization for persistence and marshaling.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install boost-serialization
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install boost-serialization.
Install boost-serialization on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

Metadata cache created.
After updating yum database, We can install boost-serialization
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install boost-serialization
Install boost-serialization on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install boost-serialization
using yum
by running the following command:
sudo yum -y install boost-serialization
How To Uninstall boost-serialization on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the boost-serialization
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove boost-serialization
