Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install abduco on CentOS 8.

What is abduco

abduco provides session management i.e. it allows programs to be run independently from its controlling terminal. That is programs can be detached – run in the background – and then later reattached. Together with dvtm it provides a simpler and cleaner alternative to tmux or screen.

We can use yum or dnf to install abduco on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install abduco.

Install abduco on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install abduco using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install abduco

Install abduco on CentOS 8 Using yum

How To Uninstall abduco on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the abduco package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove abduco
