Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install abi-dumper
on CentOS 8.
What is abi-dumper
A tool to dump ABI of an ELF object containing DWARF debug info. The tool is intended to be used with ABI Compliance Checker tool for tracking ABI changes of a C/C++ library or kernel module.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install abi-dumper
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install abi-dumper.
Install abi-dumper on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install abi-dumper
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install abi-dumper
Install abi-dumper on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

How To Uninstall abi-dumper on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the abi-dumper
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove abi-dumper
