Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install arj
on CentOS 8.
What is arj
This package is an open source version of the arj archiver. It has been created with the intent to preserve maximum compatibility and retain the feature set of original ARJ archiver as provided by ARJ Software, Inc.
We can use yum
or dnf
to install arj
on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install arj.
Install arj on CentOS 8 Using dnf
Update yum database with dnf
using the following command.
sudo dnf makecache --refresh
The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install arj
using dnf
by running the following command:
sudo dnf -y install arj
Install arj on CentOS 8 Using yum
Update yum database with yum
using the following command.
sudo yum makecache --refresh

using yum

How To Uninstall arj on CentOS 8
To uninstall only the arj
package we can use the following command:
sudo dnf remove arj
