In this tutorial we learn how to install bacula-console on CentOS 8.

What is bacula-console

Bacula is a set of programs that allow you to manage the backup, recovery, and verification of computer data across a network of different computers. It is based on a client/server architecture. This package contains the command-line management console for the bacula backup system.

We can use yum or dnf to install bacula-console on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install bacula-console.

Install bacula-console on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

After updating yum database, We can install bacula-console using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install bacula-console

How To Uninstall bacula-console on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the bacula-console package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove bacula-console
