In this tutorial we learn how to install aspell-da on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is aspell-da
aspell-da is:
The Comprehensive Danish Dictionary (DSDO) is a free spell-checking
dictionary for Danish published by Skaane Sjaelland Linux User Group
(SSLUG). One thing which makes this dictionary different from most
other dictionaries is that it basically is the result of a vote among
the proof-readers. The editorial group has not proof-read all the
words in the dictionary, but guides the proof-readers and keeps track
of the overall status of the dictionary.
This is the Danish dictionary, to be used with aspell to check and
correct spelling in Danish texts.
There are three methods to install aspell-da on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aspell-da Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install aspell-da using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aspell-da
Install aspell-da Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install aspell-da using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install aspell-da
Install aspell-da Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install aspell-da using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install aspell-da
How To Uninstall aspell-da on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the aspell-da package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove aspell-da
Uninstall aspell-da And Its Dependencies
To uninstall aspell-da and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove aspell-da
Remove aspell-da Configurations and Data
To remove aspell-da configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge aspell-da
Remove aspell-da configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove aspell-da configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge aspell-da
