What is axel
axel is:
Axel tries to accelerate the downloading process by using multiple
connections for one file, similar to DownThemAll and other famous
programs. It can also use multiple mirrors for one download.
Using Axel, you will get files faster from Internet. So, Axel can
speed up a download up to 60% (approximately, according to some tests).
Axel supports HTTP, HTTPS, FTP and FTPS protocols.
Axel tries to be as light as possible, so it might be useful as a
wget clone (and other console based programs) on byte-critical systems.
There are three methods to install axel
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

How To Uninstall axel on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the axel
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove axel
Uninstall axel And Its Dependencies
To uninstall axel
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove axel
Remove axel Configurations and Data
To remove axel
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge axel
