What is backintime-qt
backintime-qt is:
Back In Time is a framework for rsync and cron for the purpose of
taking snapshots and backups of specified folders. It minimizes disk space use
by taking a snapshot only if the directory has been changed, and hard links
for unmodified files if it has. The user can schedule regular backups using
cron.
This is the graphical interface for Back In Time.
There are three methods to install backintime-qt
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install backintime-qt Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install backintime-qt
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install backintime-qt
Install backintime-qt Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install backintime-qt
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install backintime-qt
Install backintime-qt Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install backintime-qt
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install backintime-qt
How To Uninstall backintime-qt on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the backintime-qt
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove backintime-qt
Uninstall backintime-qt And Its Dependencies
To uninstall backintime-qt
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove backintime-qt
Remove backintime-qt Configurations and Data
To remove backintime-qt
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge backintime-qt
Remove backintime-qt configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove backintime-qt
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge backintime-qt
