The live555.com streaming media code is a set of C++ libraries for multimedia
streaming, using open standard protocols (RTP/RTCP, RTSP, SIP). These
libraries can be used to build applications to stream, receive and process
MPEG, H.263+ or JPEG video, several audio codecs, and can easily be extended
to support additional codecs. They can also be used to build basic RTSP (Real
Time Streaming Protocol) or SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) clients and
servers.
This package contains the groupsock library. The classes in this library
encapsulate network interfaces and sockets. In particular, the “Groupsock”
class encapsulates a socket for sending (and/or receiving) multicast datagrams.
There are three methods to install libgroupsock8 on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libgroupsock8 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libgroupsock8 using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

After updating apt database, We can install libgroupsock8 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgroupsock8
How To Uninstall libgroupsock8 on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libgroupsock8 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libgroupsock8

To uninstall libgroupsock8 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgroupsock8

To remove libgroupsock8 configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgroupsock8
Remove libgroupsock8 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libgroupsock8 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
