What is libgsf-bin
libgsf-bin is:
The GNOME Structured File Library aims to provide an efficient
extensible I/O abstraction for dealing with different structured file
formats.
These are the programs that are shipped as part of libgsf. They include
a thumbnail generator, a tar-like archiver application and a VBA macro
extractor.
There are three methods to install libgsf-bin
on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get

and aptitude

Install libgsf-bin Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get

After updating apt database, We can install libgsf-bin

sudo apt -y install libgsf-bin

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libgsf-bin
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgsf-bin
How To Uninstall libgsf-bin on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libgsf-bin
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libgsf-bin
Uninstall libgsf-bin And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libgsf-bin
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgsf-bin
Remove libgsf-bin Configurations and Data
To remove libgsf-bin
configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgsf-bin
Remove libgsf-bin configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libgsf-bin

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libgsf-bin
