What is libgsl-dbg
libgsl-dbg is:
The GNU Scientific Library (GSL) is a collection of routines for
numerical analysis. The routines are written from scratch by the GSL
team in C, and present a modern API for C programmers, while allowing
wrappers to be written for very high level languages.
This package contains debugging symbol tables for the static GSL libraries
libgsl and libgslcblas from the libgsl-dev package, and the binaries
gsl-randist and gsl-histogram from the gsl-bin package.

There are three methods to install libgsl-dbg on Ubuntu 18.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libgsl-dbg Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libgsl-dbg using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libgsl-dbg
Install libgsl-dbg Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libgsl-dbg using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libgsl-dbg
Install libgsl-dbg Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libgsl-dbg using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libgsl-dbg
How To Uninstall libgsl-dbg on Ubuntu 18.04
To uninstall only the libgsl-dbg package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libgsl-dbg
Uninstall libgsl-dbg And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libgsl-dbg and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 18.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libgsl-dbg
Remove libgsl-dbg Configurations and Data
To remove libgsl-dbg configuration and data from Ubuntu 18.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libgsl-dbg
Remove libgsl-dbg configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libgsl-dbg configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libgsl-dbg
