bmaptool is a generic tool for creating the block map (bmap) for a
file, and copying files using the block map. The idea is that large
file containing unused blocks, like raw system image files, can be
copied or flashed a lot faster with bmaptool than with traditional
tools like “dd” or “cp”.

There are three methods to install bmap-tools on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install bmap-tools Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install bmap-tools using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install bmap-tools

Install bmap-tools Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install bmap-tools using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install bmap-tools

Install bmap-tools Using aptitude
