on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is cantor-backend-sage
cantor-backend-sage is:
Cantor is an application to allow you to you use your favorite mathematical
applications from within an elegant worksheet interface. It provides dialogs
to assist with common tasks and allows you to share your worksheets
with others.
This package provides the backend for using the Sage Mathematics Software
(https://www.sagemath.org) in Cantor.
Please note that sagemath is not available in Debian, so you need to manually
install it for this package to work.
This package is part of the KDE education module.
There are three methods to install cantor-backend-sage
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cantor-backend-sage Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install cantor-backend-sage
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cantor-backend-sage

Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install cantor-backend-sage
using apt

sudo apt -y install cantor-backend-sage
Install cantor-backend-sage Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install cantor-backend-sage
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install cantor-backend-sage
How To Uninstall cantor-backend-sage on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the cantor-backend-sage
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cantor-backend-sage
Uninstall cantor-backend-sage And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cantor-backend-sage
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cantor-backend-sage
Remove cantor-backend-sage Configurations and Data
To remove cantor-backend-sage
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cantor-backend-sage
Remove cantor-backend-sage configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove cantor-backend-sage
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge cantor-backend-sage
