Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install fonts-mph-2b-damase
on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is fonts-mph-2b-damase
fonts-mph-2b-damase is:
MPH 2B Damase is a SuperUnicode font, including ranges in Plane 1 and
ranges added in the latest release of the Unicode standard (4.1). Some
ranges added in the 4.1 release of the Unicode Standard. These ranges
cover Tifinagh, Kharosthi, hPhags-pa, Old Persian Cuneiform, etc.
The support for some scripts is not complete because the font lacks
contextual substitution (via OpenType tables) and composite glyphs, which
are required to support Kharosthi and other scripts fully. Please read
the Debian README for a fuller discussion of the problems this may cause.
There are three methods to install fonts-mph-2b-damase
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fonts-mph-2b-damase Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-mph-2b-damase
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fonts-mph-2b-damase
Install fonts-mph-2b-damase Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-mph-2b-damase
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fonts-mph-2b-damase
Install fonts-mph-2b-damase Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-mph-2b-damase
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fonts-mph-2b-damase
How To Uninstall fonts-mph-2b-damase on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the fonts-mph-2b-damase
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fonts-mph-2b-damase
Uninstall fonts-mph-2b-damase And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fonts-mph-2b-damase
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fonts-mph-2b-damase
Remove fonts-mph-2b-damase Configurations and Data
To remove fonts-mph-2b-damase
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fonts-mph-2b-damase
Remove fonts-mph-2b-damase configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fonts-mph-2b-damase
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fonts-mph-2b-damase
