What is fonts-uralic
fonts-uralic is:
The Uralic fonts contain additional letters used in most Uralic languages
with Russian-based writing systems – Khanty (all dialects), Komi,
Mansi (without marking long vowels), Mari, Nenets, Selkup and Udmurt.
The fonts also support Altai, Chukchi, Even, Evenki, Koryak and Nanai.

* Bookman Uralic (regular, bold, italic)
* Chancery Uralic – Decorative calligraphic font
* Gothic Uralic (regular, bold) – Futura-like sans serif
* Mono Uralic (regular) – Courier-like fixed width font
* Palladio Uralic (regular, bold, italic) – Palatino-like typeface
* Roman Uralic (regular, bold, italic) – Times-like typeface
* Sans Uralic (regular, bold, italic, bold italic) – Helvetica-like
sans serif typeface
* Sans Condensed Uralic (regular, bold) – Narrow version of Sans Uralic
* Schoolbook Uralic (regular, bold, italic)
These fonts cover the ISO10646-1 and CP1251 charsets.
There are three methods to install fonts-uralic
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fonts-uralic Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-uralic
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fonts-uralic
Install fonts-uralic Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-uralic
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fonts-uralic
Install fonts-uralic Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fonts-uralic
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fonts-uralic
How To Uninstall fonts-uralic on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the fonts-uralic
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fonts-uralic
Uninstall fonts-uralic And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fonts-uralic
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fonts-uralic
Remove fonts-uralic Configurations and Data
To remove fonts-uralic
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fonts-uralic
Remove fonts-uralic configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fonts-uralic
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fonts-uralic
