libapache2-mod-mime-xattr is:
This is a module for the Apache HTTPD 2.4 which may be used to set a range of
MIME properties of files served from a document tree with extended attributes
(EAs) as supported by the underlying file system. The following attributes may
be used:
- user.mime_type: set the MIME type of a file explicitly. This attribute is
compatible with the shared MIME database specification as published by
freedesktop.org. - user.charset: set the charset used in a file.
- user.mime_encoding: set the MIME encoding of a file (e.g. gzip).
- user.apache_handler: set the apache handler of a file explicitly.
There are three methods to install libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
How To Uninstall libapache2-mod-mime-xattr on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
Uninstall libapache2-mod-mime-xattr And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
Remove libapache2-mod-mime-xattr Configurations and Data
To remove libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
Remove libapache2-mod-mime-xattr configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libapache2-mod-mime-xattr
