In this tutorial we learn how to install libderbyclient-java on Ubuntu 20.04.
What is libderbyclient-java
libderbyclient-java is:
The Derby network client provides network connectivity to the Derby Network
Server. It is distributed as an additional jar file, derbyclient.jar, with an
entirely independent code base from the embedded driver.
The Derby network client is a type 4, JDBC compliant Driver, which attempts
to match the Derby Embedded JDBC driver as much as possible.
The Derby Network Server is provided by the derby-core package.
There are three methods to install libderbyclient-java on Ubuntu 20.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install libderbyclient-java Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install libderbyclient-java using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install libderbyclient-java
Install libderbyclient-java Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install libderbyclient-java using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install libderbyclient-java
Install libderbyclient-java Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install libderbyclient-java using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install libderbyclient-java
How To Uninstall libderbyclient-java on Ubuntu 20.04
To uninstall only the libderbyclient-java package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove libderbyclient-java
Uninstall libderbyclient-java And Its Dependencies
To uninstall libderbyclient-java and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 20.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove libderbyclient-java
Remove libderbyclient-java Configurations and Data
To remove libderbyclient-java configuration and data from Ubuntu 20.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge libderbyclient-java
Remove libderbyclient-java configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove libderbyclient-java configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge libderbyclient-java
