What is elpa-ggtags

elpa-ggtags is:

A package to integrate the GNU GLOBAL source code tagging system
with Emacs.

ggtags is similar to the standard etags package. The keys M-., M-,
and C-M-. should work as expected in ggtags-mode.

All commands are available from the Ggtags' menu in ggtags-mode’.

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install elpa-ggtags using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install elpa-ggtags

How To Uninstall elpa-ggtags on Ubuntu 22.04

To uninstall only the elpa-ggtags package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove elpa-ggtags

Uninstall elpa-ggtags And Its Dependencies

To uninstall elpa-ggtags and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove elpa-ggtags

To remove elpa-ggtags configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge elpa-ggtags

Remove elpa-ggtags configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove elpa-ggtags configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge elpa-ggtags
