Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install aconnectgui on Kali Linux.
What is aconnectgui
aconnectgui is:
aconnectgui is a graphical utility to connect and disconnect two existing
ports on ALSA sequencer system. The ports with the arbitrary subscription
permission, such as created by aseqview, can be connected to any (MIDI) device
ports.

aconnectgui is a frontend for aconnect, written directly on top of the
aconnect source, leaving the original source intact, only adding a couple of
ifdefs, and some calls to the gui part. It provides exactly the same
functionality, but with a graphical user interface.
There are three methods to install aconnectgui on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install aconnectgui Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install aconnectgui using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install aconnectguiInstall aconnectgui Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install aconnectgui using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install aconnectguiInstall aconnectgui Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install aconnectgui using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install aconnectgui
How To Uninstall aconnectgui on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the aconnectgui package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove aconnectgui
Uninstall aconnectgui And Its Dependencies
To uninstall aconnectgui and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove aconnectgui
Remove aconnectgui Configurations and Data
To remove aconnectgui configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge aconnectgui
Remove aconnectgui configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove aconnectgui configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge aconnectgui
