on Kali Linux.
What is akonadi-backend-mysql
akonadi-backend-mysql is:
Akonadi is an extensible cross-desktop Personal Information Management (PIM)
storage service. It provides a common framework for applications to store and
access mail, calendars, addressbooks, and other PIM data.
This package installs everything what’s needed for Akonadi to work with MySQL
as underlying data storage engine. By default, a local MySQL server instance
will be started for each user. Alternatively, connection to an external MySQL
database is supported as well.
There are three methods to install akonadi-backend-mysql
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install akonadi-backend-mysql Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install akonadi-backend-mysql
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install akonadi-backend-mysql
Install akonadi-backend-mysql Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install akonadi-backend-mysql
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install akonadi-backend-mysql
Install akonadi-backend-mysql Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install akonadi-backend-mysql
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install akonadi-backend-mysql
How To Uninstall akonadi-backend-mysql on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the akonadi-backend-mysql
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove akonadi-backend-mysql
Uninstall akonadi-backend-mysql And Its Dependencies
To uninstall akonadi-backend-mysql
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove akonadi-backend-mysql
Remove akonadi-backend-mysql Configurations and Data
To remove akonadi-backend-mysql
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge akonadi-backend-mysql
Remove akonadi-backend-mysql configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove akonadi-backend-mysql
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge akonadi-backend-mysql
