What is apng2gif
apng2gif is:
This package provides a command line tool for converting images from
Animated PNG to animated GIF format.
The Animated Portable Network Graphics (APNG) file format is an
extension to the Portable Network Graphics (PNG) specification. It
allows for animated PNG files that work similarly to animated GIF
files, while retaining backward compatibility with non-animated PNG
files and adding support for 8-bit transparency and 24-bit images.
There are three methods to install apng2gif on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install apng2gif Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install apng2gif using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install apng2gifInstall apng2gif Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install apng2gif using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install apng2gifInstall apng2gif Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install apng2gif using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install apng2gifHow To Uninstall apng2gif on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the apng2gif package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove apng2gifUninstall apng2gif And Its Dependencies
To uninstall apng2gif and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove apng2gifRemove apng2gif Configurations and Data
To remove apng2gif configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge apng2gifRemove apng2gif configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove apng2gif configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge apng2gifDependencies
