Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install appmenu-gtk3-module on Kali Linux.
What is appmenu-gtk3-module
appmenu-gtk3-module is:
GTK+ module for exporting old-style menus as GMenuModels.
Many applications implement menus as GtkMenuShells and GtkMenuItems and
aren’t looking to migrate to the newer GMenuModel API.
The AppMenu GTK+ module watches for these types of menus and exports the
appropriate GMenuModel implementation.
This package contains the GTK+3.0 AppMenu module.
There are three methods to install appmenu-gtk3-module on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install appmenu-gtk3-module Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install appmenu-gtk3-module using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install appmenu-gtk3-moduleInstall appmenu-gtk3-module Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install appmenu-gtk3-module using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install appmenu-gtk3-moduleInstall appmenu-gtk3-module Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install appmenu-gtk3-module using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install appmenu-gtk3-module
How To Uninstall appmenu-gtk3-module on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the appmenu-gtk3-module package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove appmenu-gtk3-module
Uninstall appmenu-gtk3-module And Its Dependencies
To uninstall appmenu-gtk3-module and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove appmenu-gtk3-module
Remove appmenu-gtk3-module Configurations and Data
To remove appmenu-gtk3-module configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge appmenu-gtk3-module
Remove appmenu-gtk3-module configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove appmenu-gtk3-module configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge appmenu-gtk3-module
