What is apt-dater-host
apt-dater-host is:
apt-dater provides an easy to use ncurses frontend for managing package
updates on a large number of remote hosts using SSH.
It supports Debian-based managed hosts as well as openSUSE and CentOS based
systems.
This package provides the helper application for apt-dater.
It has to be installed on every apt-dater managed host.
There are three methods to install apt-dater-host on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install apt-dater-host Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install apt-dater-host using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install apt-dater-hostInstall apt-dater-host Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install apt-dater-host using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install apt-dater-hostInstall apt-dater-host Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install apt-dater-host using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install apt-dater-host
How To Uninstall apt-dater-host on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the apt-dater-host package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove apt-dater-host
Uninstall apt-dater-host And Its Dependencies
To uninstall apt-dater-host and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove apt-dater-host
Remove apt-dater-host Configurations and Data
To remove apt-dater-host configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge apt-dater-host
Remove apt-dater-host configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
