on Kali Linux.
What is apt-listchanges
apt-listchanges is:
The tool apt-listchanges can compare a new version of a
package with the one currently installed and show what has been
changed, by extracting the relevant entries from the Debian changelog
and NEWS files.
It can be run on several .deb archives at a time to get a list of all
changes that would be caused by installing or upgrading a group of
packages. When configured as an APT plugin it will do this
automatically during upgrades.
There are three methods to install apt-listchanges
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install apt-listchanges Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install apt-listchanges
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install apt-listchanges
Install apt-listchanges Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install apt-listchanges
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install apt-listchanges
Install apt-listchanges Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install apt-listchanges
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install apt-listchanges
How To Uninstall apt-listchanges on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the apt-listchanges
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove apt-listchanges
Uninstall apt-listchanges And Its Dependencies
To uninstall apt-listchanges
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove apt-listchanges
Remove apt-listchanges Configurations and Data
To remove apt-listchanges
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge apt-listchanges
Remove apt-listchanges configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove apt-listchanges
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge apt-listchanges
