What is automake1.11
automake1.11 is:
Automake is a tool for automatically generating
Makefile.in's from files calledMakefile.am’.
The goal of Automake is to remove the burden of Makefile maintenance
from the back of the individual GNU maintainer (and put it on the back
of the Automake maintainer).
The Makefile.am' is basically a series of make’ macro definitions
(with rules being thrown in occasionally). The generated
`Makefile.in’s are compliant with the GNU Makefile standards.
Automake 1.11 is the legacy version of automake. The automake package
should be preferred and this package should only be used with older
software that doesn’t support newer versions of automake.
There are three methods to install automake1.11 on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install automake1.11 Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install automake1.11 using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install automake1.11Install automake1.11 Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install automake1.11 using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install automake1.11Install automake1.11 Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install automake1.11 using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install automake1.11
How To Uninstall automake1.11 on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the automake1.11 package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove automake1.11
Uninstall automake1.11 And Its Dependencies
To uninstall automake1.11 and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove automake1.11
Remove automake1.11 Configurations and Data
To remove automake1.11 configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge automake1.11
Remove automake1.11 configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove automake1.11 configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge automake1.11
