Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install ckon on Kali Linux.
What is ckon
ckon is:
ckon is a C++ program/tool which automatically takes care of compilation,
dictionary generation and linking of programs and libraries developed for data
analyses within the CERN ROOT analysis framework. This includes parsing
include headers to figure out which libraries the main programs need to be
linked to. It uses automake/autoconf to be platform independent and GNU
install compliant. In addition, m4 macros are automatically downloaded and the
according compiler flags included based on a list of boost libraries provided
in the config file. For the purpose of YAML database usage, a m4 macro can be
downloaded during setup to link against the yaml-cpp library.
There are three methods to install ckon on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install ckon Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ckon using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install ckonInstall ckon Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install ckon using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install ckonInstall ckon Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install ckon using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install ckon
How To Uninstall ckon on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the ckon package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove ckon
Uninstall ckon And Its Dependencies
To uninstall ckon and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove ckon
Remove ckon Configurations and Data
To remove ckon configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge ckon
Remove ckon configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove ckon configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge ckon
