on Kali Linux.
What is configure-debian
configure-debian is:
configure-debian is a program which presents a list of packages which
use Debconf, Debian’s configuration management system.
Debconf provides first-time installation wizards that run when a
package is installed. You may reconfigure these packages at a later
time, if you wish, and configure-debian makes that very easy.
configure-debian splits the package lists into the subsections which
make up the Debian archive, such as x11, base, gnome, or kde.
There are three methods to install configure-debian
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install configure-debian Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install configure-debian
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install configure-debian

After updating apt database, We can install configure-debian
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install configure-debian
Install configure-debian Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install configure-debian
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install configure-debian
How To Uninstall configure-debian on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the configure-debian
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove configure-debian
Uninstall configure-debian And Its Dependencies
To uninstall configure-debian
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove configure-debian
Remove configure-debian Configurations and Data
To remove configure-debian
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge configure-debian
Remove configure-debian configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove configure-debian

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge configure-debian
