Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install cue2toc on Kali Linux.
What is cue2toc
cue2toc is:
CUE files are text files describing the layout of a CD-ROM and typically carry
the extension “.cue”. cdrdao and cdrecord, the two CD recording programs for
Linux systems, cannot read these files. This program converts CUE files into
the TOC format that cdrdao can understand.
It also features automatic data format conversion (e.g., MP3 to WAV) before
burning; the exact action taken is determined by the file extensions and the
user’s configuration.
There are three methods to install cue2toc on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install cue2toc Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install cue2toc using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install cue2tocInstall cue2toc Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install cue2toc using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install cue2tocInstall cue2toc Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install cue2toc using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install cue2toc
How To Uninstall cue2toc on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the cue2toc package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove cue2toc
Uninstall cue2toc And Its Dependencies
To uninstall cue2toc and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove cue2toc
Remove cue2toc Configurations and Data
To remove cue2toc configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge cue2toc
Remove cue2toc configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove cue2toc configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge cue2toc
