The Free Pascal Compiler is an Object Pascal compiler supporting both Delphi
and Turbo Pascal 7.0 dialects, as well as Mac Pascal dialects. It provides a
completely portable RunTime Library (RTL) available on many platforms and
compatible with Turbo Pascal, along with a platform-independent class-based
Free Component Library (FCL) adding many Delphi extensions and interfacing
with many popular open source libraries.
This dependency package always depends on the latest available version of
the package containing Free Pascal units for common libraries (some of which
are also required by the Free Component Library): NCurses, X11 (Xlib,
Xutil), and ZLib.
There are three methods to install fp-units-base on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install fp-units-base Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install fp-units-base using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install fp-units-base
Install fp-units-base Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install fp-units-base using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install fp-units-base
Install fp-units-base Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install fp-units-base using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install fp-units-base
How To Uninstall fp-units-base on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the fp-units-base package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove fp-units-base
Uninstall fp-units-base And Its Dependencies
To uninstall fp-units-base and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove fp-units-base
Remove fp-units-base Configurations and Data
To remove fp-units-base configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge fp-units-base
Remove fp-units-base configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove fp-units-base configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge fp-units-base
