Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install freezer-api
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is freezer-api
freezer-api is:
Freezer is a distributed backup restore and disaster recovery as a service
platform. It is designed to be multi OS (Linux, Windows, OSX, *BSD), focused
on providing efficiency and flexibility for block based backups, file based
incremental backups, point-in-time actions, jobs synchronization (i.e.
backup synchronization over multiple nodes) and many other features.
It is aimed at being useful for all environments, including large
ephemeral Clouds.
This package contains the daemons.
There are three methods to install freezer-api
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install freezer-api Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install freezer-api
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install freezer-api
Install freezer-api Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install freezer-api
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install freezer-api
Install freezer-api Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install freezer-api
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install freezer-api
How To Uninstall freezer-api on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the freezer-api
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove freezer-api
Uninstall freezer-api And Its Dependencies
To uninstall freezer-api
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove freezer-api
Remove freezer-api Configurations and Data
To remove freezer-api
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge freezer-api
Remove freezer-api configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove freezer-api
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge freezer-api
