on Kali Linux.
What is pike8.0-core
pike8.0-core is:
Pike is an interpreted, object-oriented, dynamic programming language
with a syntax similar to C. It includes many powerful data types and
a module system that, for instance, provides image manipulation
together, with support for graphics formats like SVG, JPG, PNG, GIF,
XCF and many others, database connectivity, advanced cryptography,

found in other pike8.0-* packages (image processing, MySQL,
PostgreSQL, SANE and more).
There are three methods to install pike8.0-core
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install pike8.0-core Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install pike8.0-core
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install pike8.0-core
Install pike8.0-core Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install pike8.0-core
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install pike8.0-core
Install pike8.0-core Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install pike8.0-core
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install pike8.0-core
How To Uninstall pike8.0-core on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the pike8.0-core
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove pike8.0-core
Uninstall pike8.0-core And Its Dependencies
To uninstall pike8.0-core
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove pike8.0-core
Remove pike8.0-core Configurations and Data
To remove pike8.0-core
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge pike8.0-core
Remove pike8.0-core configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove pike8.0-core
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge pike8.0-core
