on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is 6tunnel
6tunnel is:
6tunnel allows you to use services provided by IPv6 hosts
with IPv4-only applications and vice versa. It can bind to
any of your IPv4 or IPv6 addresses and forward all data to
IPv4 or IPv6 host.
Tunnelling for application that don’t speak IPv6. It can be
used for example as an IPv6-capable IRC proxy in other network.
There are three methods to install 6tunnel
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install 6tunnel Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install 6tunnel
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install 6tunnel
Install 6tunnel Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install 6tunnel
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install 6tunnel
Install 6tunnel Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install 6tunnel
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install 6tunnel
How To Uninstall 6tunnel on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the 6tunnel
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove 6tunnel
Uninstall 6tunnel And Its Dependencies
To uninstall 6tunnel
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove 6tunnel
Remove 6tunnel Configurations and Data
To remove 6tunnel
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge 6tunnel
Remove 6tunnel configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove 6tunnel
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge 6tunnel
