What is acpi-fakekey
acpi-fakekey is:
This package contains a small tool that can be used to generate key events as
if the corresponding key was pressed. It is used by scripts processing ACPI
events to translate these events to key presses but can also be used
separately.
There are three methods to install acpi-fakekey on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install acpi-fakekey Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install acpi-fakekey using apt-get by running the following command:

Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install acpi-fakekey using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install acpi-fakekeyInstall acpi-fakekey Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install acpi-fakekey using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install acpi-fakekey
How To Uninstall acpi-fakekey on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the acpi-fakekey package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove acpi-fakekeyUninstall acpi-fakekey And Its Dependencies
To uninstall acpi-fakekey and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove acpi-fakekeyRemove acpi-fakekey Configurations and Data
To remove acpi-fakekey configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge acpi-fakekeyRemove acpi-fakekey configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
