Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install adacontrol
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is adacontrol
adacontrol is:
AdaControl verifies that Ada software meets the requirements of a
number of parameterizable rules. It is not intended to supplement
checks made by the compiler, but rather to search for particular
violations of good-practice rules, or to check that some rules are
obeyed project-wide.
This package also contains the following utilities:
- pfni: Print Full Name Image – expands any identifier to a fully-qualified
name - ptree: Prints a graphic representation of an ASIS tree with corresponding
source - adactl_fix: automatically fix some violations.
There are three methods to install adacontrol
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install adacontrol Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install adacontrol
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install adacontrol
Install adacontrol Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install adacontrol
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install adacontrol
Install adacontrol Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install adacontrol
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install adacontrol
How To Uninstall adacontrol on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the adacontrol
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove adacontrol
Uninstall adacontrol And Its Dependencies
To uninstall adacontrol
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove adacontrol
Remove adacontrol Configurations and Data
To remove adacontrol
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge adacontrol
Remove adacontrol configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove adacontrol
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge adacontrol
