Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install agda-stdlib
on Kali Linux.
What is agda-stdlib
agda-stdlib is:
Agda is a dependently typed functional programming language: It has inductive
families, which are like Haskell’s GADTs, but they can be indexed by values and
not just types. It also has parameterised modules, mixfix operators, Unicode
characters, and an interactive Emacs interface (the type checker can assist in
the development of your code).
Agda is also a proof assistant: It is an interactive system for writing and
checking proofs. Agda is based on intuitionistic type theory, a foundational
system for constructive mathematics developed by the Swedish logician Per
Martin-L?f. It has many similarities with other proof assistants based on
dependent types, such as Coq, Epigram and NuPRL.
The Agda standard library contains modules for many common data structures and
proof patterns. Modules provided include:
- Algebra: Specifying and reasoning about abstract algebraic structures
- Category: Using idioms from category theory to structure functional programs
- Coinduction: Support for programming coindutively
- Data: Data types and properties about data types
- Foreign: Relating to the foreign function interface
- Induction: A general framework for induction
- IO: Input/output related functions
- Level: Universe levels
- Relations: Properties of and proofs about relations
- Size: Sizes used by the sized types mechanism
This package contains the complete library.
There are three methods to install agda-stdlib
on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install agda-stdlib Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install agda-stdlib
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install agda-stdlib
Install agda-stdlib Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install agda-stdlib
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install agda-stdlib
Install agda-stdlib Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install agda-stdlib
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install agda-stdlib
How To Uninstall agda-stdlib on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the agda-stdlib
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove agda-stdlib
Uninstall agda-stdlib And Its Dependencies
To uninstall agda-stdlib
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove agda-stdlib
Remove agda-stdlib Configurations and Data
To remove agda-stdlib
configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge agda-stdlib
Remove agda-stdlib configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove agda-stdlib
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge agda-stdlib
Dependencies
agda-stdlib have the following dependencies:
