Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install airstrike-common
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is airstrike-common
airstrike-common is:
Airstrike is a 2d dogfight game in the tradition of the Intellivision and
Amiga games ‘Biplanes’ and ‘BIP’. It features a robust physics engine and
several other extensions of the original games. It is currently 0-2 player
only, but will hopefully have network play and some more advanced computer
controlled enemies in the future. The graphics have been created using the
Povray raytracer, and should be easy to extend and modify.
This package contains the architecture-independent data files.
There are three methods to install airstrike-common
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install airstrike-common Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install airstrike-common
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install airstrike-common
Install airstrike-common Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install airstrike-common
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install airstrike-common
Install airstrike-common Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install airstrike-common
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install airstrike-common
How To Uninstall airstrike-common on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the airstrike-common
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove airstrike-common
Uninstall airstrike-common And Its Dependencies
To uninstall airstrike-common
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove airstrike-common
Remove airstrike-common Configurations and Data
To remove airstrike-common
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge airstrike-common
Remove airstrike-common configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove airstrike-common
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge airstrike-common
