What is akonadi-backend-postgresql

akonadi-backend-postgresql is:

Akonadi is an extensible cross-desktop Personal Information Management (PIM)
storage service. It provides a common framework for applications to store and
access mail, calendars, addressbooks, and other PIM data.

This package installs everything what’s needed for Akonadi to work with
PostgreSQL as underlying data storage engine. By default, a local PostgreSQL
server instance will be started for each user. Alternatively, connection to an
external PostgreSQL database is supported as well.

There are three methods to install akonadi-backend-postgresql on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.

Install akonadi-backend-postgresql Using apt-get

Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.

sudo apt-get update

After updating apt database, We can install akonadi-backend-postgresql using apt-get by running the following command:

sudo apt-get -y install akonadi-backend-postgresql

Install akonadi-backend-postgresql Using apt

Update apt database with apt using the following command.

sudo apt update

After updating apt database, We can install akonadi-backend-postgresql using apt by running the following command:

sudo apt -y install akonadi-backend-postgresql

Install akonadi-backend-postgresql Using aptitude

If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.

sudo aptitude update

After updating apt database, We can install akonadi-backend-postgresql using aptitude by running the following command:

sudo aptitude -y install akonadi-backend-postgresql

How To Uninstall akonadi-backend-postgresql on Kali Linux

To uninstall only the akonadi-backend-postgresql package we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get remove akonadi-backend-postgresql

Uninstall akonadi-backend-postgresql And Its Dependencies

To uninstall akonadi-backend-postgresql and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove akonadi-backend-postgresql

To remove akonadi-backend-postgresql configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y purge akonadi-backend-postgresql

Remove akonadi-backend-postgresql configuration, data, and all of its dependencies

We can use the following command to remove akonadi-backend-postgresql configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:

sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge akonadi-backend-postgresql
