Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install akregator
on Ubuntu 22.04.
What is akregator
akregator is:
Akregator is a news feed reader. It enables you to follow
news sites, blogs and other RSS/Atom-enabled websites without the need to
manually check for updates using a web browser. Akregator is designed to be
both easy to use and to be powerful enough to read hundreds of news sources
conveniently. It comes with Konqueror integration for adding news feeds and
with an internal browser for easy news reading.
This package is part of the KDE PIM module.
There are three methods to install akregator
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install akregator Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install akregator
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install akregator
Install akregator Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install akregator
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install akregator
Install akregator Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install akregator
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install akregator
How To Uninstall akregator on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the akregator
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove akregator
Uninstall akregator And Its Dependencies
To uninstall akregator
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove akregator
Remove akregator Configurations and Data
To remove akregator
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge akregator
Remove akregator configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove akregator
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge akregator
