Introduction
In this tutorial we learn how to install android-libart on Kali Linux.
What is android-libart
android-libart is:
Android Runtime (ART) is the managed runtime used by applications and
some system services on Android. ART and its predecessor Dalvik were
originally created specifically for the Android project. ART as the
runtime executes the Dalvik Executable format and DEX bytecode
specification.
This package provides libart and libsigchain.
This library is only used by Android SDK and uses a customized RPATH.
There are three methods to install android-libart on Kali Linux. We can use apt-get, apt and aptitude. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install android-libart Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get using the following command.
sudo apt-get updateAfter updating apt database, We can install android-libart using apt-get by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install android-libartInstall android-libart Using apt
Update apt database with apt using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install android-libart using apt by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install android-libartInstall android-libart Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude on Kali Linux first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Kali Linux. Update apt database with aptitude using the following command.
sudo aptitude updateAfter updating apt database, We can install android-libart using aptitude by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install android-libart
How To Uninstall android-libart on Kali Linux
To uninstall only the android-libart package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove android-libart
Uninstall android-libart And Its Dependencies
To uninstall android-libart and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Kali Linux, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove android-libart
Remove android-libart Configurations and Data
To remove android-libart configuration and data from Kali Linux we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge android-libart
Remove android-libart configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove android-libart configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge android-libart
