What is android-sdk-helper
android-sdk-helper is:
The Android SDK packaged in Debian is a restricted distribution with only one
version of Build-Tools and limited selections of the Android target frameworks
(android.jar). This package provides helper tools to build Android apps using
Debian’s Android SDK without modifying the build scripts.
This package consists of:
- A Gradle init script that forces a build script to use the Gradle Android
Plugin in Debian which is patched to work with the SDK.
There are three methods to install android-sdk-helper
on Ubuntu 22.04. We can use apt-get
, apt
and aptitude
. In the following sections we will describe each method. You can choose one of them.
Install android-sdk-helper Using apt-get
Update apt database with apt-get
using the following command.
sudo apt-get update
After updating apt database, We can install android-sdk-helper
using apt-get
by running the following command:
sudo apt-get -y install android-sdk-helper
Install android-sdk-helper Using apt
Update apt database with apt
using the following command.
sudo apt update
After updating apt database, We can install android-sdk-helper
using apt
by running the following command:
sudo apt -y install android-sdk-helper
Install android-sdk-helper Using aptitude
If you want to follow this method, you might need to install aptitude first since aptitude is usually not installed by default on Ubuntu. Update apt database with aptitude
using the following command.
sudo aptitude update
After updating apt database, We can install android-sdk-helper
using aptitude
by running the following command:
sudo aptitude -y install android-sdk-helper
How To Uninstall android-sdk-helper on Ubuntu 22.04
To uninstall only the android-sdk-helper
package we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get remove android-sdk-helper
Uninstall android-sdk-helper And Its Dependencies
To uninstall android-sdk-helper
and its dependencies that are no longer needed by Ubuntu 22.04, we can use the command below:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove android-sdk-helper
Remove android-sdk-helper Configurations and Data
To remove android-sdk-helper
configuration and data from Ubuntu 22.04 we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y purge android-sdk-helper
Remove android-sdk-helper configuration, data, and all of its dependencies
We can use the following command to remove android-sdk-helper
configurations, data and all of its dependencies, we can use the following command:
sudo apt-get -y autoremove --purge android-sdk-helper
