Introduction

In this tutorial we learn how to install annobin on CentOS 8.

What is annobin

Provides a plugin for GCC that records extra information in the files that it compiles. Note – the plugin is automatically enabled in gcc builds via flags provided by the redhat-rpm-macros package.

We can use yum or dnf to install annobin on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install annobin.

Install annobin on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

After updating yum database, We can install annobin using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install annobin

Install annobin on CentOS 8 Using yum

After updating yum database, We can install annobin using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install annobin

How To Uninstall annobin on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the annobin package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove annobin
