In this tutorial we learn how to install anope-pcre on CentOS 8.

What is anope-pcre

Anope is a set of IRC services designed for flexibility and ease of use. This package provides an Anope module to support for Perl Compatible Regular Expressions (PCRE).

We can use yum or dnf to install anope-pcre on CentOS 8. In this tutorial we discuss both methods but you only need to choose one of method to install anope-pcre.

Install anope-pcre on CentOS 8 Using dnf

Update yum database with dnf using the following command.

sudo dnf makecache --refresh

The output should look something like this:

Metadata cache created.

After updating yum database, We can install anope-pcre using dnf by running the following command:

sudo dnf -y install anope-pcre

Install anope-pcre on CentOS 8 Using yum

After updating yum database, We can install anope-pcre using yum by running the following command:

sudo yum -y install anope-pcre

How To Uninstall anope-pcre on CentOS 8

To uninstall only the anope-pcre package we can use the following command:

sudo dnf remove anope-pcre

/usr/lib/.build-id
/usr/lib/.build-id/01/f336738c69ff29275b7e80ec97593902e4ccad
/usr/lib64/anope/modules/m_regex_pcre.so
